So I think my little one is trying to force me into potty training her. She will not leave her poopies in her diaper. It use to be just during nap time that she would pull it out and paint the walls. I tried to resolve this by putting on a onsie with zipper pajamas on backwards. That worked for a couple of days, but now every single time she makes the brown stuff it is quickly found on her hands, on doors, the coffee table and so son. She has figured out how to do this while wearing pants and a onsie. It had been pretty shitty around here. I feel like my last option is to start in on potty training. She seems so young, but I guess she’s not too far off; she’s turning two in just a couple of weeks.
I’d love to hear from all you moms that have been there.
What are the tips and tricks? Thanks, I appreciate your help.
I would get going on that ASAP. As for tips, that's a tough one. Girls seem to be easier so you've got that going for you. My sis trained all her kids in one day...here's her strategy..pick a day and dedicate it entirely to potty training. Put on the undies and don't look back. Good luck my dear.
ReplyDeleteI would agree with the first comment! Once you start, don't go back! Undies all the way!!
ReplyDeleteI let Sass pick her little potty chair cover, so she liked to pee on her special chair. She also loves the pull ups right now, because they are all Disney princess'. We were forced to potty train her so it was not as easy going and it was hard for G.. so no tips, but I do know forcing isn't the way. You wouldn't do that anyway! But the toilet seat cover she picked out was a huge excitement to her.. that's all I got!!
ReplyDeleteLove ya
P.S. I know Lindsay did London really fast and really well, I think it was a book...??
My tip: Clorox wipes and a Bissel Green machine. Potty training sucks.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter what you do, if your little one has a mind at all, it's going to be a challenge. But I agree, once you go undies you don't go back! And don't plan on going ANYWHERE for at least a week! Have lots of rewards on hand, and lots of cleaning supplies. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your comments. I've started reading a book my sis in law used it's called, Toilet training in less than a day. So far I've just started the book not the actual potty training.
ReplyDeleteGirls do start earlier than boys, my daughter was 18 months. We had a promo DVD from a 'pull up's' nappy company which showed 'big' children using the potty over and over, she adored it and decided she wanted to be a big girl too!
ReplyDeleteIf she is pulling stuff out of her diaper, she is ready for the potty. Good luck! It sounds like you are on the right track with the book!
