First: I cut up some old maps using one of those humungo circle cutter things.(I had to get the maps from an antique store. Funny.)
Second: I strung the circles together with bakers twine. I put a dab of hot glue to keep the twine on and then a glue stick for the top circle. Each little hangy thing has two sides.
Next: I made each at varying lengths with a different amount of circles on each string. I made ten strings total.
The actual mobile part is one of those picture hanging mobiles with clips.
Lastly: I tacked it to the ceiling right above his little book shelf.
I think this would make a perfect holiday project. You could use any holiday scrapbook paper and use all the same techniques.
Nice work!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get the mobile hanger?
ReplyDeleteI did this too but I added little airplanes to the top of the wire parts cause I thought they looked a little bare. :)
