Am I The Only Mom without an iPhone?

Over the weekend we took our kids to the famous Baby Animal Days. Milly was in heaven. I was in Mommy guilt Hell because I forgot my camera.
Milly took a little horse back ride and wore a purple barbie helmet while riding. It was the most adorable thing I've ever seen in my life, I mean I was beaming. Mason was right by her and I was off to the side with Mack. Mason yells over to me, "Hey, get out your phone out and take a picture." I looked at him like, hello Mason have you seen my phone? He knows my purple little phone can't manage a picture more than five inches away from the desired object. Needless to say I was embarrassed on a few levels. A Vacation

Mason and I keep throwing around the idea of a vacation. We scrolled through our memories the other night and realized we hadn't been on a real live vacation since 2008. A sad story. We have friends that just got back from San Diego. Envy ruled my body for a minute then I humbled myself enough to ask, "Did you have fun, what did you do?"

Their list of attractions included Sea World, The San Diego Zoo, and the beach. The beach, can you imagine? It sounded like San Diego would be a perfect little family get away. If you are lucky enough to live in that area San Diego Tutoring happens to be a great resource.

I was Never too Cool for School

Do you know I'm one of those people that kind of likes school? Well of course you did, when I can't watch a TV show without making it into an assignment I guess it's obvious I'm a bit of a nerd. Sometimes I even miss it. When I day dream I imagine myself walking down the wide hallway of the Taggart Student Center and breathing in a strong waff of cafe ibis coffee as I head to my next class.

Although throughout my schooling years I continually struggled with test taking. Perhaps my anxiety prevented higher scores, perhaps I was never as smart as I assumed. Either way I would have benefited hugely from test prep tutors. I was always better when the final grade was based on a long paper. Let me ramble on but please DO NOT limit me with one question and one answer. If you or your child could benefit from test prep tutors I found this to be a helpful site.

The Vitamin Routine

Every night before my daughter goes to bed we have a little routine. I'm sure most of you do. Part of this routine includes her taking her daily vitamins. And here is the truth, I yell across the room, "Vitamins!" And Milly comes running, sometime she runs like a puppy and sometimes she leaps across the room like a lion but either way, the kid loves taking her vitamins.

The Baby Phase

Last week I stayed with my nephews for a few days while their parents were on vacation. The oldest is 12 the twins are 9. They were an absolute pleasure to be around and my toddler daughter, who loves her cousins, was in heaven. It made me realize something, parenting is an ever evolving job. I am in the baby phase, I take care of little people all day, full time, and you guys...

It is tiring

and then amazing for a few minutes

and then exhausting.

Being with "the boys" as Milly refers to them, made me realize, parenting will switch from constant care to a whole lot of activities and homework, homework every night, projects, reading, spelling tests. If you are in this phase you know I've only scratched the surface. Someday, like when my kids are in the fifth grade, they will undoubtedly be smarter than I am. When this occurs you  know I'll have to resort to a tutor there are a plethora of tutors online now find more information here and good luck on whatever parenting phase you are taking part in. Because He's a Dog Person

I saw this little puppy on pinterest Mason swooned and I smelled pee. It's one of our main arguments. To have a pet or to not have a pet? Growing up Mason had one pet after another. No, he's not one of those cat scratchers but other than that you name it and he has, at one point, cared for it.

He claims pets are good for kids, they teach responsibility, provide companionship. I say it sounds like a big mess. I like my carpet not stained, my shoes in one piece and the batting left in my cushions. I like grass without yellow stains and with two kids I deal with more than enough poop so shoveling it off my lawn doesn't exactly tempt me. When we discuss this topic Mason usually concludes, "Most people, well people with a heart anyway, really enjoy pets."

Mirror Mirror

You know when you look in the mirror and you think ya I look the same today as I did yesterday and the day before and you go about your day. But then you look at yourself in the mirror while you’re in the car and in the natural sunlight you notice you failed to rub in that last smudge of makeup and you have a dark hair protruding from your chin? Oh, wait is that just me?

My point is, I do need better lighting in my bathroom and things can appear drastically different among various formats. Take this blog for instance. I pull it up on my computer and it looks the same today and it did yesterday. But if I was to pull it up on my mobile device, and then on your Ipad and on Susie’s android, well let’s just say the light hits a little different each time. Wedding Highlights

My baby sister tied the knot in August. I had so much fun scrolling through here wedding album. It was perhaps the most perfect wedding. My sister along with my mom planned every last detail. I had forgotten just how much work wedding planning can be.
If you or a family member are planning a wedding and you are not able to hire my mom, mostly because A) You wouldn't be able to afford her and B) You're not her daughter and so she wouldn't be willing to plan your wedding anyway. Well then I guess your next best option would be to familiarize yourself with this snazzy little site called, weddingtonway.com . I sincerely wish I would have known about it back when the Mace and I got hitched.
 And now a few highlights from Haley and Gabe's day. Sigh...

Toner, I'm always out of toner

So there I was, Sunday morning the diaper bags, yes bags, were packed. Milly and Mack were dressed and ready, no one had spilled or pooped through their church attire. Mason was showered and ready I was showered and running a flat iron through my hair, nearly ready. All I had to do was print off my lesson I had prepared the night before.
But alas I was out of toner. I am always out of toner! Why you ask, because everytime I consider buying it I realize that I should probably feed my family first because with the price of toner. It's usually one or the other, right?
I know I'm not the only with this problem, so I was searching for a solution. I came across 247inktoner. As far as I can tell they have better prices and they'll ship it right to you. By the way, don't you just love when things are shipped right to your front door, and you think take that world, as you realize you successfully avoided dragging your two kids around in snowy weather just to buy toner.

Bigger Things

Today  I met a milestone. Milestone? I don't know if that's the right word, but somehow I need to convey the significance of the event which I conquered. Drumroll please...
I took my two children with me in public all by myself! Both were fed, both had dry pants both were secured in car seats and there I was driving to the Doctor's with two kids in tow. What? I must be amazing or something? Can you imagine what I'd be able to accomplish if only I had some sleep. I dream of the day.
Anyway little things like this make me think that one day I could do bigger things. Things that aren't completley absorbed with mommyhood. When I decided to accept ads on this little blog I had to techinically start my own small business. While I don't exactly have the time or energy to fully pursue what I'd like this blog to be I have done a bit of research on small businesses.
